Description of the technologic process of glued solid timber constructions manufacturing

Taking into account that the basis of Ltd. "Super Bebris" operations is the manufacture of high-quality end-products, the following production cycle is maintained:

1. In the initial stage, the required timber is cut to eliminate defects created in the process of growth and drying as much as possible; visual sorting of saw-timber is done by classes of strength.

2. The initially prepared materials are forwarded to the next manufacturing process – fingerjointing. The saw-timber is fingerjointed to the necessary length, based on the developed project. Saw-timber joining and adhesive coating is done automatically. In this way, the most effective and economical way of using the materials is ensured.

3. After such fingerjointing, all saw-timber is shaved to achieve smooth surface and continue gluing in the necessary cross-sections.

4. Ltd. "Super Bebris" can use its technologies to glue saw-timber in the following cross-sections:

Thickness: from 30 mm to 240 mm
Height: from 80 mm to 1500 mm
Length: up to 16 m (it is planned to shortly increase it to 24 m) For gluing, a made-in-Switzerland adhesive Purbound HB 530, which has been tested in Otto-Graf-Institute, in accordance with the DIN 68141 regulation, is used.

5. After obtaining the necessary cross-sections, further processing works are carried out.

1) The profile necessary for the walls of glued timber beam houses is milled;
2) Materials are shaved to the necessary sizes and forwarded for manufacturing of panel houses;
3) The bearing timber constructions (beams, rafters, purlins, etc.) are shaved to the necessary sizes and forwarded for further processing.

6. After the beam profile milling, corner-joining locks are worked into the logs, in accordance with a previously coordinated project. The materials are prepared and forwarded for assembly.

7. The materials that are to be used in manufacturing of panel houses, in accordance with a previously coordinated project, are worked into prepared wall, inter-storey covering and ceiling panels, which are delivered to the construction site in order of assembly.

8. All bearing timber elements by individual order are prepared and delivered to the customer.

In accordance with LVS EN 386:2000, three different glued solid timber construction structures are possible (see the image below).

a. GSTC that are made of multiple lamellas glued in the wide side, fingerjointed in length;
b. GSTC that are made of multiple lamellas glued in the wide side, fingerjointed in length and width;
c. GSTC that are made of multiple lamellas glued in the narrow, wide side, fingerjointed in length (vertical glued solid timber construction).
